Cross-multiply: 5·11 = 55 vs 7·8 = 56. 56 sits over the 7/11 side, so 7/11 is bigger.
Do you need the LEAST common denominator to add fractions?
No — multiplying the denominators always works; the result just reduces to the same answer (38/24 = 19/12)
Multiply 0.3 × 0.04
3 × 4 = 12, then count 1 + 2 = 3 decimal places → 0.012
Compute 1.2 ÷ 0.04
Slide both points right: 120 ÷ 4 = 30. Dividing by a number less than 1 makes the result bigger.
